Today, Reuters reported that United Health Group (UNH.N) expects health insurance plan enrollments to increase over the next year. The Group is the largest health insurer in the U.S and expects the growth to result at least in part, from increased Medicare Advantage plans for the elderly. You can view the original article here. Specifically, the insurer noted at an annual investor conference that it expects it will add around 800,000 members. Although this increase in membership comes as a welcomed reception, yesterday (Monday, November 29) the company noted that it expects “earnings per share” to drop of around 8%.
